Miracle Minerals - Four Minerals You Need in Your Skincare Regime

Just like our bodies require a variety of minerals and vitamins for optimal health and vitality, so does our skin. We love using minerals along with botanicals and vitamins as the key ingredient in our skincare products as they fit perfectly with our "Edible" beauty philosophy and  provide a myriad of benefits.

Four of our favourite minerals for radiant and luminous skin are described below.

Australian Pink Clay
There has been a bit of a buzz around Australian pink clay! When you consider some of the benefits of clay in your skincare regime, there is absolutely no wonder why. Pink clay is a combination of red and white clay.  It contains a high level of essential minerals and iron which work to replenish and regenerate the epidermis of the skin. We love the benefits it provides. It works to
  • Refine fine line
  • Stimulates skin cell regeneration
  • Contains high levels of silica which promote skin suppleness and hydration
  • Reduces skin redness, sensitivity and irritation
  • Heals and enhances skin cell regeneration

You need pink clay in your beauty routine if you suffer from

  • Sensitive skin prone to redness
  • Large pores, blackheads or acne prone skin
  • Dry skin or fine lines
  • Scarring

You will find pink clay in our sleeping mask, & Sleeping Beauty Purifying Mousse.

Ribose

Ribose is actually a sugar produced by all living cells. It is responsible for boosting energy production and reducing the loss of oxygen supply within cells. Given that our skin cell energy production declines with age, feeding the skin with ribose has been shown to provide significant anti-ageing benefits. Ribose is the only known cosmetic ingredient used by skin cells to restore energy production and provides the following benefits:

  • Prevents the appearance of wrinkles by limiting the breakdown of skin tissue
  • Firms and tones the skin
  • Improves skin elasticity

You need ribose in your beauty routine if you are experiencing

  • Fine lines and ageing skin
  • Exposure to skin damage from UV light, pollution and environmental pollutants
  • Dull, thin or very delicate skin

You will find ribose in our Express: Bloom of Youth Infusion Mask

Australian Zeolite

Zeolite is a natural volcanic mineral which has a high negative charge and micro-porous structure which makes it incredibly powerful in helping to bind and remove toxins. Given these properties, it works to draw and remove impurities from our skin which is constantly being exposed to environmental pollutants. The quality of the zeolite that is used in your skincare is of utmost importance. As zeolite draws impurities you want to ensure that it has been sourced from a pure environment and is not contaminated. We always use a trusted and high quality source of zeolite in our skincare. It provides the following benefits:

  • Unclogs pores and clears blackheads
  • Prevents acne breakouts
  • Detoxifies, cleanses and purifies the skin
  • Balances oil production

You need this volcanic mineral in your skincare routine if you have a tendency for

  • Acne-breakouts or pimples
  • Oily skin
  • Black heads or large pores

You will find zeolite in  & Sleeping Beauty Purifying Mousse.

Gold

Gold is old is one of my favourite ingredients when it comes to anti-ageing and brightening. Cleopatra was onto something with her frequent gold leaf baths! Used for centuries for its skin rejuvenating properties, gold has a high bio-availability which means it penetrates deeply into the skin layers to provide the following skincare benefits

  • Reduces inflammation and free radical damage
  • Combats the breakdown of skin collagen
  • Boosts circulation to brighten and enhance radiance
  • Increases skin cell turnover.

Everyone needs a touch of gold in their beauty routine, but you may be in special need if you have

  • Dark circles under the eyes
  • Lack lustre skin in need of brightening
  • Fine lines and wrinkles

You will find edible gold leaf in & Gold Rush Eye Cream
