Supporting Women in Need this Mother's Day

Mother’s Day this year may be quite different for some, due to the current lockdown restrictions around the country. Every year however, there are women all around the world who are facing adversity and escaping homelessness or domestic violence. At Edible Beauty, we believe that very mother, sister, aunty and friend deserves to feel special on this day, and every day of the year.

To celebrate Mother’s Day and women all around the country we will be supporting three women’s charities – so that women in need can be pampered and feel good on the inside – and out.

For every Mother’s Day bundle sold, we are supporting The Sanctuary - The Hills Women's Shelter, Every Little Bit Helps and Women's Community Shelters by donating Edible Beauty products to Australian women in need – many who are escaping homelessness and domestic violence.

The Sanctuary – The Hills Women’s Shelter

The Sanctuary is a women’s shelter based in The Hills Shire of the Sydney region. The Sanctuary provides a safe-haven for women and children regardless of their age, sexuality, cultural and linguistic diversity. The Sanctuary is also one of a few shelters in NSW that can provide for women with a disability and women with larger families. They provide up to 3 months of supported accommodation and specialist case workers for women and their children who are escaping homelessness and/or domestic violence.

Every Little Bit Helps

Every Little Bit Helps is a women’s charity that collect, pack and redistribute unwanted (and unused) toiletries, amenity kits, cosmetics and make-up samples to women in need, including the homeless, asylum seekers and victims of domestic violence as well as troubled youths through Women’s Refuge, Homeless Shelters, Youth Centres, Asylum Centres and Community Centres as well as via small Government and Community Groups.

Many women’s shelters provide laundry and shower facilities, however are unable to provide basic toiletry products. Every Little Bit Helps works to provide shelters and the women in need, with these necessities, as well as other luxury self-care items.

Women’s Community Shelters

Women’s Community Shelters provide short term emergency accommodation and support in a safe environment for homeless women all around the country. They help women facing homelessness and domestic violence with access to counselling, health care, assistance to navigate government bureaucracy, legal help, further education and employment to re-establish control over her life. Women’s Community Shelters also help communities establish new shelters by providing expertise in governance, intellectual property, professional development and project management. Women’s Community Shelters are focused on supporting each shelter to develop best practice and achieve positive individual outcomes for the women staying at the shelters, while remaining cost efficient.

We are so pleased to be able to support these shelters and women in need this Mother’s Day. The team at Edible Beauty wish you a love-filled and safe Mother’s Day - and every day.
